It’s here… with heart-shaped balloons, chocolates, roses and of course parties! Valentine’s Day celebration in Egypt is not that wide-scaled as it is in the West but couples still find their way to make the Day of Love special and unforgettable. Many of us have already decided where and how to spend this V-Day, yet there are lots of lovers who did not. Here are some suggestions for the last-minute decision-takers.

Relaxing Yoga Start

From early morning (9:00 to11:00 am) Namaste Yoga lovers are invited to Shanti Yoga Cairo, where they will master Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga classes with Hany Samy. Another session for Hatha Yoga will take place from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

Valentine's Day meditation session from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm will take place at AlMaqarr, Cairo. It will be run by certified advanced pranic healing practitioner Rania El Maghraby. The reservation is a must. The cost of the session is around $5.

Ladies can start their Valentine’s Day with relaxing meditation at 35B located in the region of Zamalek in Cairo. The psychotherapist, yoga expert and 35B founder Hannah Kamal offers practicing Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pranayma, sufi meditation, mantra meditation, sound healing, dancing meditation, art therapy and healing workshops. The sessions run from 12:30 to 8:00 pm, group exersices cost $6, private ones – around $27.

Romantic Dinner

Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel in Cairo considers “it’s never too early to start planning” for Valentine’s Day and starts the celebration of the day at 12:00 am, offering its customers an intimate dinner at Sabaya, the Grill Restaurant and Lounge or the Birdcage. Alternatively hotel suggests having a Valentine dinner for two at Pane Vino, listening to the romantic tunes by Onsi and Natalie or dancing the night away at Rithmo.

“A passionate dreamy mood at Filini” is offered by Radisson Blu, Cairo Heliopolis. Here couples will find a candlelit dinner of four-courses Italian set-menu and a romantic atmosphere created by a violinist.

Hilton Alexandria Green Plaza Hotel invites you and your partner to a loving dinner in a romantic atmosphere at Ginger Asian Restaurant or Splash Italian Restaurant at 7:00 pm. A 3-course set menu dinner price is $20 per person all inclusive.

Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano promises “an incredible Valentine's dinner experience surrounded by love in an intimate atmosphere with live entertainment”. The dinner buffet at Kala Restaurant is open from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am at approximately $44 per person. Byblos Restaurant offers a Lebanese Passion four courses set-menu from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am at $47 per person. Stefano's Restaurant celebrates l'amore on the Italian way with a delicious four courses set-menu from 6:00 pm to midnight at $49 per person. For a sweet tooth, Lobby Lounge creates a mouthwatering buffet with strawberries and chocolate at $11 per person.

A romantic dinner of four courses, a glass of white wine and a rose for ladies for $68 is served at Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel in Cairo.

Concerts and Cultural Events

Jazz connoisseurs can spend the Morning of Love in Cairo Jazz Club located in Giza. At 10:30 am Mohamed Basheer and his band present a whole new phase of Upper Egyptian folk with a contemporary fusion, using traditional and western instruments.

V-Day rock concert starts at 4:00 pm in Nawara Centre, Tareek Elkoraa, Hurghada. The event is hosted by Hard Rock Cafe Hurghada.

A live Valentine’s Day concert of well-know singer and musician Enrico Macias is held at 7:00 pm at the French Embassy in Guizah, Cairo under the auspices of Mr and Mrs Andre Parant, Ambassador of France in Egypt, and assistance of the French Chamber of Commerce in Cairo. Dress code requires to wear formal with a touch of red.

At 7:55 pm live opera performances Iolanta by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Bluebeard's Castle by Bela Bartok will be transmitted in high-definition video from the Metropolitan Opera in New York City to Cairo Opera House Small Hall. Both operas are directed by Mariusz Trelinski, who was inspired by classic noir films of the 1940s, and conducted by maestro Valery Gergiev.

Valentine's Day Concert will be given by Cairo Symphony Orchestra at 8:00 pm in the Main Hall of Cairo Opera House. At the concert, conducted by Ahmed El Saedi, musicians will present the compositions of Emil von Reznicek, Astor Piazzolla, Roberto Molinelli, Johannes Brahms. The price for tickets varies between $4 and $8.

Partying and Clubbing

Bright and loud Valentine’s Day party at Royal Club Mohamed-Aly situated in Giza region of Cairo starts from 3 pm and lasts till 4 am. It offers the couples club music, belly dancing, sheesha corner, bazaar and funny games. The price of the ticket is $27 if reserved and $34 at door. The ticket includes two hard or soft drinks. The event is designed for couples and mixed groups only.

Bollywood-style Valentine’s Day takes place at 35B Zamalek, Cairo. The organizers offer the party from 5:00 to 9:00 pm with Hindi songs, dances and games, professional photos in Indian sari and other accessories, free cold and hot drinks for $14. The price of the ticket for 35B friends is $10 and for members of 35B the entrance is free of charge.

Crystal LIVE Lounge in Sharm el-Sheikh arranges a "memorable Valentine’s Day", promising romantic atmosphere, a glass of wine, chocolates and roses for free. The entrance to the live band concert is also free of charge. The party starts at 9:00 pm.

“Be My Valentine!” party is hosted by Crooners Club in Hurghada. A romantic evening in a “warm and cozy atmosphere” with “soft music and divine cocktails” awaits you from 10:00 pm.

A special party with local singers and belly dancers is planned at Sheraton Montazah in Alexandria. The price of the ticket starts at $27

Sheraton Dreamland Hotel and Conference Center suggests couples to celebrate Valentine's Day with EL MADFA3GEYA AND JAMAICA “who have arranged a downright outrageous playlist to set a throwback cabaret feel.” T

he entrance ticket costs $20 and corkage $20.

At 10:00 pm Cairo-based club Vent invites for “a night of slow dancing, burning desires and melancholy in the company of others.” Lonely Hearts Club welcomes strangers. “Not creepy” singletons will get an access to this venue for coupled-ups. The organizers do not require any reservation and entrance fees but apply their rules – no PDA, no drugs, and only people above 21.

Valentine’s Saturday at dance club and bar White Beach in Hurghada begins at 10:30 pm and offers club music, photos and video footage. Ladies can get a free glass of exotic cocktail.

Pangaea Club Sharm El Sheikh promises to amaze its customers with “a massive party full of love and fun”. The event starts at 11:00 pm.

Valentine’s Masquerade Party with disco music, Russian Diva DJ Litchi and a four-courses dinner, cooked by a team of international chefs, takes place at Little Buddha, located in Tropitel Naama Bay in Sharm El Sheikh. The dress code of the club throws down a challenge – “dress to impress” if you dare…

Night club Pacha Sharm El-Sheikh recommends the participants of its Valentine’s Fever party to wear red and white in order to get one extra drink. Electrifying night fueled by exquisite Pacha Show and some sexy beats by “Dunsha & Momo” are guaranted for those who chooses this club. Presale ticket price (before 11:00 pm) is $20, door price – $26.
