Day 6 Cairo Departure
Welcome to the Land of the Pharaohs! We are so pleased to have you. Our agent will meet you at arrivals and will see you through customs and then make sure to get you to your hotel in Cairo.
Our marvelous tour will begin with a visit to the fascinating Pyramids and Sphinx on the Giza Plateau. Khufu, the Great Pyramid known as Cheops, is the largest of the three. Prepare to be dazzled by its sheer size, an imposing, dominant figure lording it over the plateau. Moving on, we will visit the Saqqara Necropolis where innumerable temples and tombs strewn across the sands are awaiting you. It’s at Saqqara where you will see Djoser’s famed Step Pyramid, the precursor, or prototype of Cheops. Later-on in the day, we go on for an unforgettable journey on the sleeper train to Luxor. It is a slightly shaky trip but really cool if you like trains. Overnight on sleeper train. (Breakfast, dinner)
Your arrival in Luxor is well timed. At around 8 am, our local representative will meet you on the quay and accompany you to your hotel. Luxor is considered one of the world’s greatest open-air museums. It is the site of the ancient city of Thebes, capital of the Pharaohs during 10th and 11th Centuries BC. Breathe and get ready to take in an incredibly unique experience. This afternoon you will be taken around the Karnak temple complex, housing a multitude of temples, chapels and pillars. It is just daunting. Prepare yourself to be awed by the richness of this place. Back at your hotel, relax, take your time and prepare yourself for an optional evening to the Luxor Temple, magically illuminated by a thousand colored lights at night fall. You may book at the last minute through your hotel. If you opt out, just enjoy the evening with maybe a stroll along the bank of the Nile, a dinner at one of the nice restaurants dotting the city and breathe in the magical air of this ancient city. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast)
Early morning is a good time to drift over Luxor in a hot-air balloon and enjoy the sunrise. (Optional) From high above, you look down upon ancient Thebes with its surrounding landscape and villages on the cusp of starting a new day.
Later on, we will be moving on to the West Bank of the Nile where we will see the two massive statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. From there on, we move to the Valley of the Kings and the imposing colonnaded Temple of Queen Hatshepsut known in Arabic as “Deir el Bahary”.
Back in Luxor, you may enjoy your free time at your leisure. Later-on we will visit the Temple of Karnak, a vast open-air museum and the second largest ancient religious site in the world.
Now on to another ride on the sleeper train back toward Cairo. Overnight on sleeper train. (Breakfast)
Back in the capital, it’s early morning yet. You will be met and assisted by a Lady Egypt representative, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Later on, we will be taking a tour of the Egyptian Museum and will get a chance to catch sight of King Tut’s solid gold death mask. A sight to uphold. One of the optional extras we offer is the Royal Mummies room if you would like to hear about the story of mummification and the significance of the “after life” in ancient Egypt.
The afternoon and evening are yours free to enjoy at your leisure. Make sure to ask our agent for help if you have any special wishes. We will happily make any arrangements for you. Overnight at hotel in Cairo. (Breakfast)
Ma’ al Salama. Time for packing your souvenirs and memories. We will be lending you a helping hand for a smooth check-out and transfer to Cairo international for your departure.

Review of: Guided Day Tour to Giza Pyramids and Saqqara from Cairo with Felucca Ride and Derwish Show
Lady Egypt has a excellent team of Guides both in Cairo and Luxor. We had a great vacation. Family enjoyed this memorable country
Sorry this review is late but I absolutely loved my family trip with Lady Egypt tours. My plane was delayed and they still met me at the airport to meet up with the rest of my family. Our tour guides were personable and highly knowledgeable about Ancient Egypt history. A year later I still remember all the incredible sights and experiences. Lady Egypt is the best
