There's nothing to fear, although you do need to be briefed on the areas in the country that are safer than others. It doesn't hurt to keep yourself updated in regards to the present state of Egypt as well, but not to the point that you'd choose to avoid going there due to the extreme fear-mongering that some news agencies delve into. Whatever Egyptian incidents are reported in the news happen in isolated parts of the country, and the whole country shouldn't be held accountable for these events.
